BH-W vs MR-W T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips, WBBL 2022
Brisbane Heat Women will take on Melbourne Renegades Women at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay. Match 9 of the 2022 WBBL will get underway at 15:30 local time on Tuesday, October 18th.
Brisbane Heat Women
After losing to Sydney Sixers Women in their opening game by four wickets, Brisbane Heat Women got their first win of the tournament against Melbourne Stars Women on Saturday evening. They posted 179-3 before restricting Melbourne Stars Women to 170-8.
Georgia Redmayne top scored with 49 against Sydney Sixers Women and hit 33 from 30 balls against Melbourne Stars Women. However, she was out scored by Ellie Johnston (54) and Georgia Voll’s 40 not out from 28 balls on Saturday.
It has not taken long for skipper Jess Jonassen to re-find the bowling form from the 2021 WBBL and she followed up her 2-21 on Thursday with 3-36 on Saturday. 22 year old New Zealand leg-spinner Amelia Kerr took her first two wickets of the tournament against Melbourne Stars Women.
Brisbane Heat Women had won only one of their previous five WBBL games before Sunday’s victory.
Melbourne Renegades Women
In a very close game on Sunday morning in Mackay, Melbourne Renegades Women got their campaign off to a winning start by defeating 2021 finalists Adelaide Strikers Women by four wickets with one ball remaining. The winning runs were hit by Sarah Coyte.
The top three of Sophie Molineux (32 runs from 35 balls), Hayley Matthews (22 runs from 15 balls) and keeper batter Josephine Dooley (29 runs from 27 balls) got Melbourne Renegades Women off to an excellent start against Adelaide Strikers Women. None of the team hit a six in Sunday’s win.
Although Hayley Matthews took an impressive 1-17 from four overs, it was the skipper Sophie Molineux who led the bowling attack against Adelaide Strikers Women. The left-arm spinner dismissed the number three, four, five and six batters.
Melbourne Renegades Women lost each of their final three games in 2021 so Sunday’s win was crucial for the side.
